I covet UPPERCASE’s books

books I want via UPPERCASE

(I love) UPPERCASE highlights the world of graphic design through its gallery, books & papergoods. The gallery presents work by illustrators, photographers and graphic designers. The eclectic book selection features titles hand-picked for their uniqueness and quality of design and content. Here are some of the books I really want to read/see/have in my collection from their online shop.

Chalkboard wall paint: Turning a wall into a changeable slate.

Chalkboard paint post

I love this stuff and really want to make use of it in our new apt. I’d love to paint a small (14X14ish) section of wall as a calendar where we can share our events and leave grocery lists etc. The pictures above illustrate some great options for the paint and how to use it.

Tuesday expect a post on a fabulous vintage necklace from Erie Basin that I got as a b’day gift this weekend.

Habitat Uk: Dining chairs and Maquette news

Habitat Chairs with border by me

I love perusing Habitat dreamily. These modern dining chairs are really unobtrusive, their lines are clean and their shape so appealing. Matching is always safe but I can see mixing colors a little within one of the designs.

Sigh….another household item to add to the list. If in reality we were to purchase all the things we wanted we’d be wearing barrels with suspenders.

I added the pink border drawing in for kicks.

***In other news Craftzine.com blog posted about my DIY cupcake topper/ sculpture!!!! I am so thrilled and thankful. I think they’re so fantastic.

And Trust Your Style mentioned me and my husband after filling my eyes with glorious sunshine yellow!

My birthday is Sunday so next time I post I’ll be a bit older and wiser. Older at least.

Lorena Barrezueta: Fabulous gourmet containers

Lorena Barrezueta gourmet containers

In my last post I mentioned finding Lorena Barrezueta‘s containers at Matter in Brooklyn. How whimsical, fun, pretty, and useful. Her concept is so fantastic, Chinese food aluminum take out containers done in ceramic with stunning colors. I’m smitten. I covet the Fresh collection in tomato and turquoise.

We’re trying to get an apartment in Brooklyn, If we do, I’ll splurge on some Fresh pieces.

Here’s a great interview from a while back with Lorena on Design*Sponge.

Here’s where you can buy her beautiful work from Brooklyn to Australia.
