Knit wit

Brrr. It’s getting cold out there again (at least here in New York). I covet hats even though with my long curly hair I seldom wear them. I usually wear earmuffs and feel silly. I often pretend I can’t hear my husband. He loves that game (when I say “love”, I’m using the word lightly).

Woman’s knit hats:

1 Eugenia Kim
2 Misha Lampert…ohhh nooo. I just noticed they’re out of stock on Shopbop. Check back in for it. It’s my favorite one…must be someone else’s too.

I still get the heartiest laugh out of this one via Kitsune Noir.

Nanette Lepore for Keds

Nanette Lepore for Keds

Nanette Lepore is one of my favorite designers. So when I saw these I got excited.

Zappos has a decent collection of the Nanette Lepore/Keds designs. In fact I am the proud owner of the first pair, the yellow lace overlay on cyan. Lovely. Or check out the Keds site for them. Here’s a great male counterpart via Blackberrie.

I suppose I’m preemptively prepping for spring. It’s been unseasonably warm here in NYC. I even went jogging in a tank top the other day. Strange for January. There are many colors and styles though for the various seasons for those of you who stick to fashion codes of conduct.

I hear there’s a snow storm coming though so I may have to settle back into the michelan man look.

Mary Jo Matsumoto & Trust Your Style: Illustrations and fashion.

Mary Jo Matsumoto post

I’ve been working with Mary Jo Matsumoto of Trust Your Style blog for months on illustrations that feature her stunning designs for her lookbook and promotional packages. I’m so happy that I started blogging since it’s led me to making new connections and friends like Mary Jo.

I’ve had such a ball working with her. She’s not only an incredibly talented designer of jewelry and clutches but also an excellent art director. The collaboration was fun and fruitful.

She’s posted lots of the illos on her re-vamped website. TYS style blog is relaunching today, as in NOW!! She’s going to have an interview up that she did with me. I’ll link to it tomorrow. Here’s the interview with MJM on Maquette that started us off.

I even got my own stunning clutch out of the collaboration (that’s it above, like candy). It’s very beautiful in person, inside and out. I carry it everywhere and get lots of compliments on it. If you want to get an Infinity Clutch or gorgeous earrings check out her site and contact her stat. They’re selling like hotcakes.

In other news: Pro-intellectualism or animal cruelty? You be the judge.

Tie this one on men: Bonnie Heart Clyde and Rhombus Wear

Tie this one on men

Here’s a great solution for your New Years outfit men. You can look dapper, neat, and distinguished while maintaining your edge and modernity. These Bonnie Heart Clyde ties are too fun. They’re hand embroidered to boot. I love the skull one. Or try this built in tie on this great shirt via Rhombus. Clever and fun. It’ll be a great conversation starter at the party and girls will be sure to come up close and check it out…surely leading to a midnight kiss.

Staci Woo: Delicacy, beauty, comfort.

Staci Woo fashions

Perusing Cloths-Pin I came across Staci Woo (I’m a little bit in love with her clothing. That may be an understatement). My initial response was to say something like “I wuv woo” or “woo-wee!” but I thought better of it. I think Staci has accomplished a great feat. She rolls comfort, beautiful silhouettes and delicacy all into one with her collection. It’s a rarity. This says it all: “whisper soft supima cottons and rich tencels knits mixed with lace trim and inspiring prints”. Just lovely Staci.
