Gift Guide Compilation: The everybody, The Alexis Bittar fan, and The Bad-ass Girl’s gift guides

More gifts!
More gift guides (I’m insane). The Alexis Bittar sample sale is today through Sunday. Robyn went and got loads of goodies. I made it there this afternoon and got a few items as well.

Image 1 is a broad recap (if you need to be reminded where to get the goods click here or scroll down). Image 2 covers my favorite Alexis Bittar goodies, though I’m sure you can find your own favorites on his site, at his sample sale, or in his shop.

In image 3, I present you with a little twinge of bad-ass. For the boy whose girlfriend prefers black to pink and the girl who prefers Dita Von Teese to Britney Spears, some bad-ass jewelry (some Alexis Bittar snuck into this one too). If you want to see some other jewelry posts click here, here, here and here, :

Alexis Bittar: Onyx Skull Necklace and ring, pearl skull necklace and ring

Erica Weiner: Gun and dagger necklace and handcuff necklace (maybe you’re into mouse bondage?)

Objects of desire and a warm up gift guide.

Objects of desire and Anmutig's gift guide
Accept my humble apologies and lateness on completing Maquette’s gift guide and instead relish this fabulous gift guide by my favorite German blogger Nadine of Anmutig blog. She’s done an incredible job of featuring gifts for particular ilks like: Little girls, older girls, and boyfriends. I like, I like! Notice how beautifully she laid everything out. You are an inspiration Nadine! I’ll pull something useful together for my readers. It would be a shame not to since I’ve been collecting ideas for months…just give me till Friday. For now I share with you my drawing “objects of desire“above.

Enjoy Anmutig’s gifts for:

New Illustrations for Drawmo! and Nextbook.org

shoe illustrations

I did the illustrations above to initiate the Drawmo! challenge. I guess I was in a shoe mood. Also, I was recently commissioned to do two illustrations for Nextbook.org. I had lots of fun doing all of them! Here’s one and two from Nextbook. The art director/ book designer/ founder of Drawmo! posted about the illos on her blog.

Megan Whitemarsh embroidery + a reminder of Takashi Iwasaki and my little sewings

Megan Whitemarsh embroidery

I recently discovered THE COVETED an inspirational, fun, and stylish blog. Maybe I should be more methodical in my blog collecting because I can’t remember where. Nonetheless, this one is a keeper. It’s definitely one of my new daily reads. Jennine posted some fun and beautiful embroidery by Megan Whitemarsh that caught my eye and my desire, reminding me of my post on Takashi Iwasaki where I threw in my own little abstract fabric sewing collages that were also posted on Craftzine. I think I need to buy one from each of them. I can’t wait to get an apt. in Brooklyn where I might have enough wall space to feature my new Fifi print and some embroidery illustrations by Megan and Takashi. If you want to be in the know, check out THE COVETED.

Tues. I’ll post some illustrations of mine that just got published at an online magazine as well as my drawing a day (Drawmo!) drawings from December 1st-now.
